Over the years our customers have asked many technical questions about our products, applications, and general sanding advice. Uneeda thought others could benefit from the answers to many of these important questions.
Please feel free to email us at sales@uneeda.com with your questions.
What papers do you have available for my Bosch 3727DVS?
This Bosh sander is a 6" x 6 hole hook & loop backing pad electric sander. We have a wide variety of film, paper and cloth products available. The type of backing and grain type we would suggest is dependent upon your application and what your expectations are. View the complete list of detailed sanding disc materials available.
We have a plant full of your orbital sanders that we use on a daily basis. From time to time, we have a need to rebuild them or just repair them. Do you have a parts list or some kind of catalog where we can order our parts from? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Please visit our website page for manuals. Then click on the PDF "Ekasand 5 and 6 Random Orbital Sander". This will give you a complete list of all parts for our EKASAND machines to include part numbers.
Looking for a pad to clean a wide belt sander 37" inch timesaver... can you help me.
If you are referring to a pad to clean loaded wood from your wide belts, we do not suggest attempting to do that with something like a belt cleaning stick while the belt is running on the machine. We suggest only cleaning wide belts once they are removed from the machine. Try using a product called "Cool IT" lube. It does a great job of cleaning cloth wide belts. You would need to spray it onto the belt while the belt is off the machine. Also, please let the belt dry before using it again. To purchase cool it lube, please contact us at 1-877-863-3321 and we can help you with your purchase. Please keep in mind, only water proof cloth belts should be cleaned with any type of liquid solution. Paper belts will not hold up once exposed to a liquid.
What is considered the best grit of sand paper and/or process to prepare veneered surfaces for staining? Currently we use a 150-220 grit process. Is there a recommended paper type? Is there a recommended replacement of graphite pads? How does heat buildup affect the sanding/staining process regarding sandpaper & graphite pads? Are ceramic belts an option to conventional belt break-down?
To answer your question accurately, we will need to know the brand and product number of the belts you are using now, your exact grit sequence and stock removal requirements. We can then cross reference them to our products and give more informative suggestions.
Without having seen the application and the veneer quality, the grit sequence as you have described 150, 180, 220, should be fine. We suggest going with paper products on all the wide belts heads if finish is critical. Since you are sanding all whitewood (raw wood), we suggest our paper product material known as EKA1000 for all three grits. It outperforms by far most all competitor paper materials. If finish is more critical, I would suggest finishing with a #220 grit Silicon Carbide grain as it finishes softer but does not have great life.
We suggest you stay away from a ceramic type of abrasive grain. This grain was designed for grinding and polishing titanium and stainless. We find that it tears the wood up and is not a good product to run on wood. We are one of the few companies that offer a friable aluminum oxide grain, which has the same characteristics as ceramic grains. What that means to you is that you get as good a product form the EKA1000 paper as you do with cloth.
We are looking for a wide belt cleaner that is a spray on, hose off application. Do you carry anything like that? or do you only have the cleaning blocks? We used to get a product called "REUZIT1 Wide Belt Cleaner".

I have two questions. Which type of paper (silicon, aluminum, sand, etc.) would be best for sanding bowls on a lathe and what is the most economical way to buy it (rolls, sheets, etc.)?
Very flexible cloth aluminum oxide would be best suited for this application. You should try EKA500J, EKA400J and/or URAJD. These are all very flexible Aluminum Oxide cloth products. It would be best to buy these materials in rolls. We sell rolls by the meter.
