Whether you’re sanding doors, panels or other workpieces that have rounded or specialty edges, maintaining the desired contour or shape of the edge when using conventional abrasives can be difficult. Not so with Ekasilk Plus.
In this video, Sherry and Chris show you how to use EKASILK PLUS foam abrasives products to help with that process.
This video features the ½ in. and 5mm versions of the product. EKASILK PLUS sponges are designed to be used on electric or pneumatic orbital sanders, and only require a light pressure to get the job done.
If you’re finishing a large flat panel with a rounded edge, the 5mm 5” disc is a great option. As Sherry demonstrates, you can simply sand the flats and then wrap the edges with the same unit.
Chris prefers the ½ in on a 3”x4” sander. The ½ in. foam is much more flexible and will be a lot more forgiving, while the 5mm is sturdier but will have less malleability.
What works best for you will depend on your preferences and what tools you have available to you.
