Whether you’re finishing your woodworking project with stain, primer or paint, our EKASILK PLUS foam abrasive sponges are there to get the job done faster and better. But choosing the wrong grades for your finishing stage could cause problems like sanding through or polishing wood.
Foam abrasives have a distinctive grading system, so don’t be concerned if the grit feels coarser or different than conventional abrasives. Because the grain lies on a flexible foam backing, it recedes into the sponge when sanding, causing it to have a lighter cut than the same grit would on standard sandpaper. And the best thing of all is you can now use your orbital sander and dramatically speed up the process on projects were you’d normally have had to go manually – such as intricate profiles, moldings, inside tight spaces and so on.
So, what are the grades, their finish equivalent and typical applications?
