We’ve seen it time and time again: sanding swirls left behind by the 3×4″ orbital sanders. Because these sanders don’t have a random pattern, the vibrations can cause the sander to skip across the workpiece, leaving swirls and marks. However you can avoid these swirls by using a pad saver – which will receive the vibrations, allowing the sander to move freely over the surface of your workpiece.
