EKASILK PLUS is the answer to the most common finish sanding problems – from sharp edges, contours, and tight, hard to reach spaces to fast loading, torn or broken abrasives, or simple fatigue from manual sanding.

Coming in an array of sizes, grades, and thicknesses to cover all the bases, the EKASILK system will eliminate hand sanding by speeding up your finishing, giving you back your time, energy and money, all while delivering the best finish possible.

SAVE TIME. SAVE MONEY. SAND BETTER.

The EKASILK PLUS family of foam abrasives offers the highest quality product that will outlast conventional abrasives by up to 30 times longer. This combination makes for one of the most cost-effective solutions on the market today for finishing operations.

5mm

Flat Sanding

Whether you’ve got large flat panels or hard to reach spaces, such as corners or between louvers, using the 5mm EKASILK PLUS sponges on your sander will eliminate the majority of manual hand sanding and speed up the whole finishing process, from final prep of raw wood before primer or stain, all the way through to your final coat of finish.

10mm

Shaker Door Sanding

If you’re tired of your sander damaging the wood on shaker doors or inside other shallow crevices, the 10mm EKASILK PLUS sponges are the answer you’ve been waiting for. Dense enough to allow for flat sanding, flexible enough to manage edges and contours, and thick enough to clear the top of the shaker door, all without leaving a mark.

1/2in.

Profiles and Contour Sanding

Say goodbye to sanding contours, dips, grooves and rounded edges by hand! The thick, flexible, open cell foam structure of the 1/2in. EKASILK PLUS allows the grain layer to recede into the sponge, matching the shape of your workpiece and removing the need to do it all by hand.

What are flocked back abrasives?

The EKASILK PLUS products are coated abrasive sponges that can be used on a sander. Historically, foam abrasives could only be used by hand... until recently. Now these useful finishing tools have gotten an upgrade: a hook and loop backing, or flocking, so they too can be attached to a sander, saving time and energy on previously tedious, complicated, and costly finishing processes.

Grading System

If you’re uncertain about the grits, check out this video to learn about how to choose your Ekasilk Plus grades based on your application.

GRIT EQUIVALENCE

The EKASILK PLUS line is available in 5 grades for different stages of the finishing process. Due to the unique nature of the foam and the abrasive surface, it is important to understand that these grades do not perform 100% like the traditional grains you might use for a conventional abrasive.
